⚜️An OPINION is a composite⚜️
Opinions are the result of a complex network of incidents and co-incidents (things that happen with other things that happen) in the many layers through which life expresses itself.
To have an opinion you needed impressions, experiences, and associations that have moved through the filters of your state of awareness, cultural influences and your belief systems. This painting reflects the complexity of OPINIONs.

What is your opinion made of?
Is it even yours?
How much influence had the world outside of you on your opinion?
Which aspects of your opinion is truly your own?
Does your opinion reflect your truth?
How fiercely do you tend to defend your opinion, which is in fact something so fleeting and fluid?
⚜️While painting⚜️
The more I focused on letting go of everything that defines me so I could create from a state of pure being, the more I became aware of how much I did in fact let myself be defined by others.
One of those things was opinions. I asked myself „what is my opinion about myself?“
And I was not exactly surprised to find out that most of it consisted of impressions and judgments others had about me. Mostly good ones.
And yet… the more layers I let go of while painting, the more layers were added on the canvas in front of me.

The Sandman
The pencil portrait of Dream of the Endless is the first and only one I have ever made.

Emotional Hell

I went through some sudden emotional challenges that came out of nowhere. I just had to express myself. And this is the result.
The lava stone - like black structure is a blend of quartz sand and black acrylic paint. The eye is made of resin. A small layer of gold reminds us of the alchemistical process pain can set in motion.
